The University of the Sunshine Coast has officially opened its new Adelaide campus, welcoming the inaugural cohort of 70 students for orientation today.
Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Helen Bartlett said the opening marks an important milestone in UniSC’s growth and reputation both in the Australian higher education sector and internationally.
“We are delighted to welcome our first students as they start their higher education journey at this fantastic campus in the heart of the Adelaide CBD,” Professor Bartlett said.
“Our decision to expand to Adelaide was driven by a desire to offer UniSC international students a different city-campus experience to our South-East Queensland locations, while maintaining the high-quality teaching and student experience that UniSC is famous for.”
The 2023-24 Good Universities Guide rated UniSC as the nation’s number one public university for overall postgraduate student experience, and the second-best nationwide for undergraduates.
UniSC’s Adelaide campus currently offers degrees in Cyber Security and Forensics, and Information and Communications Technology, with plans to expand this course offering in the future.
“We believe we can add genuine value to the South Australian education landscape and will be ensuring the programs we choose to offer at this campus align with the needs of South Australia and its workforce strategy,” Professor Bartlett said.
“I’d like to thank the South Australian Government, Education Centre of Australia and our business development partners for making this possible.”
Rupesh K. Singh, CEO of Education Centre of Australia, expressed his excitement over the partnership with UniSC: “We were delighted to embark on this partnership with UniSC and establish a campus in Adelaide. Our goal was to extend UniSC’s outstanding programs and student experience to the vibrant capital of South Australia. The opening of the Adelaide campus marks the beginning of a significant collaboration with UniSC.”
