The University of Canberra is accepting applications for its Bachelor of Nursing course to be offered at the University’s Sydney Hills campus for Semester One 2023 in partnership with Education Centre of Australia.
From February 2023, students will be able to attend the new, state-of-the-art campus at University of Canberra Sydney Hills (UCSH) – in Castle Hill.
The University has expanded its in-demand Bachelor of Nursing course outside of its locale in the nations’ capital, in response to growth in northwest Sydney.
“UC has a clear connection to Canberra. We also place important emphasis on our global and regional reach and presence, illustrated in part by our partnership with ECA, in order to reimagine our education offerings and meet the educational demands of Australia’s future workforce,” Professor Nixon said.
“Our industry partnerships with local and regional clinical placement facilities will provide UC Sydney Hills students with expert placement experiences, setting them up for a successful future in the local healthcare workforce.”
Manveer Perhar, UCSH Campus Director mirrored the sentiment: “We are thrilled to be bringing the in-demand Bachelor of Nursing from UC to Sydney Hills and provide more students with the opportunity to study at UC. The new campus will offer students the same high-quality education and clinical experience that UC is known for, while also giving them the chance to study in one of Australia’s most vibrant and diverse cities.”
The new purpose-built campus offers 2,000 square metres of teaching and study spaces, and features state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, including simulation labs and clinical training spaces, to provide students with a hands-on learning experience. In addition, students will have access to a range of support services, including academic advising, career counselling, and financial aid.
“We are very excited to be celebrating the opening of the UCSH campus in Castle Hill. The partnership between The University of Canberra and Education Centre of Australia to deliver nursing and other courses in high demand in The Hills District of Sydney is an Australian first: a public private partnership aimed at delivering world-class education focusing on nursing for both local and international students. The University of Canberra is a highly ranked university and the courses being offered at the campus will all be of exactly the same quality and standing as those offered in the main campus in Canberra. The investment we are making in The Hills will create jobs and help alleviate some of the skills shortages locally and regionally. This is the just the beginning of a significant operation and we are very grateful for the support of the university, The Hills Shire Council and partner healthcare providers,” said Rupesh K. Singh, CEO of Education Centre of Australia.
The University of Canberra Sydney Hills campus is located in the northwest of Sydney, close to major shopping centres, Castle Towers and Castle Mall, Castle Hill, as well as cafes, restaurants, and local shops, which will provide a range of services to support UCSH students.
Students studying at the University of Canberra Sydney Hills campus will have access to local and regional clinical placements and employment opportunities, further enhancing their student experience.
It is not too late to apply for 2023 intake. UCSH is still accepting students in Semester Two 2023.
